  Rage Bio

“A Diamond In The Ruff”. Born in the heart of Pittsburgh, upcoming phenomenon Nick Rage is quickly becoming a household name not just nationally, but internationally too. Rewinding to the early stages of his career, Nick began writing music between the ages of 11 to 13, and made his first recording at the age of 16, lending his vocals on other artist’s songs. Nick then began to polish his style, which has been compared to the likes of LL Cool J, and Tech N9ne, which are coincidently two of Nick Rage’s major influences, alongside the likes of Ill Bill and Royce Da 5’9.

Nick Rage’s debut release came at the age of 19, in the form of “Burgh Villain Vol.1”. This created the initial buzz around Pittsburgh for Nick, and gave him the opportunity to hook up with the likes of Cassius, Conspiracy, Pheenixx, G30, Tw12ve Gauge, Young Kap and Moine Luke. Then Nick Rage’s career rocketed quicker than an N.A.S.A aircraft, as he has featured on the DefJam DMA mixtape, along with DJ Domination’s “Coast to Coast Mixtape”. The respective names speak for themselves; however Nick really put his first foot in the industry when he hooked up with Royce Da 5’9 to record the track “Burgh to the D”

Now at the age of 22 Nick Rage has returned with his sophomore mixtape “Dead to Society”. The sixteen-track mixtape displays Nick’s ability to switch up styles from an unearthly underground approach, to a very appealing, and radio friendly sound. Nick Rage possesses the best of both worlds, and “Dead To Society” caters for every musical taste. With already over 500 copies handed out locally, Nick intends to push his name internationally, and “Dead to Society” is proving to be the foundations for him to do so.

A] well I knew mad people that was spittin so I just started writing and laying verses with them, and soon other people wanted to hear more of me. So thats when I started to really think I needed to do this.

Q]  Other than major artists in the game, who or what was your biggest inspiration as far as your music goes?

A] Well I have a few inspirations for real, LL cool J was a major one. I use to bump his **** when i was young growing up. Other are ill bill bc dude is raw, tech n9ne, eminem, jayz, nas and royce da 59. I did a song wtih royce da 59 last year, he was a really good dude and it was cool bc I been listenin to him for years and he told me my music was dope. So that was really cool for me

Q] Where do you see yourself, musically, in 5 years? 10 years?

A] 5 years being real big on the underground maybe in the majors starting to really get this money and make my name hot, u know gettin money for the family. 10 years I hope having a good carrer with my music and well off so i dont have to be one of them lame artist you see 20 years lata still a noone with no fanbase

Q] Starting a track, do you write to a beat or write before you find a beat?

A] I use to write without a beat but its just better if you write to a beat. I might make sum punchlines without 1 but I dont write till I get a beat now a days

Q] So as an outlet for your emotions, where would you say you come from the most? Whats the main vibe youre in when you sit down and start doin what you do?

A] I do a lotta deep jams bout growing up for real. My dad was a dope fiend and I grew up thru some **** so I write bout **** I been thru and things that happened mostly. I just keep it real

Q] If you could work with any artist, mainstream or underground, who and why?

A] I got a few picks here. LL cool j or jayz bc I think there dope. Mary J blige bc everything she is on is a hit. Underground would be tech n9ne or royce again, maybe immortal technqiue

Q] Say tomorrow, youre approached by some rapper, one nobody likes (soulja girl for instance) and he offered you a deal, what do

A] well of course ima out shine them, so if the money is right maybe i'd sign and maybe make them hot haha. for real tho i dont know bc it never happened

Q} How do you feel about where the industry stands today?

A]Its cool in ways, but a lotta good **** gets slept on but I feel every style should get to shine like it or not

Q]Whats one thing that you dont believe about the industry?

A] that they cant market real hip hop and only gotta play club songs. I mean if its hot its hot right?

Finish this sentence... Hiphop is......................
Nick rage. Hip Hop is everything around you

Q]Theres this kid at one of your shows... He tells you he can rap so you listen. Say hes pretty fresh, what is your response?

A]give him contact info and tell him to submit a demo and me and my crew would review it and if we like it put him on some **** for free maybe

Q]Now say the kid is wak... What would you tell this kid, advice wise?

A] I would tell him how to improve and give him any advice i got when I was coming up.
